alexander mcqueen
paris fall 2008

"I've got a 600-year-old elm tree in my garden," he said, "and I made up this story of a girl who lives in it and comes out of the darkness to meet a prince and become a queen."

each season i anxiously await the mcqueen creations

this season was hailed as one of his best in the last 14 years
i personally have others that are my favorites---like fall 2006
so much, that i even knocked off the big cable sweater

for fall 2008 i preferred the 1st half of the collection, which featured some amazing knitting, the 2nd half seemed too costumey to me. . .

Yes, Fall 2006 was hard to beat! Lovely cable sweater btw. I agree about this collection, the second half seems like a totally different story, which I'm less fond of. I lovely the delicate white on black and black on white detailing of the first half.

Oh my that is a beautiful set of photos! Thanks! I have some DDs who could rival the loft, and also match any complaint, about Hair like that. I think the clothing is great all the way through but the white/black is truly stunning.

the knitwear is so wonderful. i particularly like the knit dress with layers of crinoline peeking out from the bottom. thanks for the inspiration!
